Support Worker

A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join a dedicated team who provide excellent support to our client on a 24/7 basis.

Our client is an educated and intelligent lady in her mid-fifties, with creative flair who enjoys art. Following an accident some years ago, she has a brain injury and is a wheelchair user. She lives in her own accommodation in Eastleigh, Hampshire.

Previous experience and full driving licence are essential.
An NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in care and competent IT skills are desirable.
Our client has a cat so applicants should be tolerant to cats.

An average of 21 hours per week on a flexible basis to cover a 24/7 rota.
£14.84 - £19.18 per hour.

This position requires a fully enhanced disclosure request from the DBS.
You will also be required to register with the DBS Update Service.

SUPPORT WORKER

We are seeking a support worker to join an existing care team to facilitate the independence and safety of our client, a 72-year-old male living in his own home in Milford Haven. He suffered a brain injury 8 years ago resulting in physical and cognitive disabilities and requires 24/7 care.

Our client requires support to safely manage his day to day needs at home and in the community. The work is varied and involves assisting the client to access the local community and its amenities.

The client keeps a dog and two birds as pets so applicants should be tolerant to animals.

Previous experience would be desirable.
Full driving licence and own car desirable.

You must be registered with OR working towards registration with Social Care Wales.

You must hold a recognised Health and Social Care qualification (NVQ Level 2 or a Diploma) OR have completed the All Wales Induction Framework, or be willing to complete this within 6 months of starting if successful.

30 hours per week, covering a 24/7 rota.
The role will include waking night shifts at the client’s home to support his safety.

£11.11 per hour weekdays / weeknights
£12.12 per hour weekend / weekend nights

FEMALE SUPPORT WORKER

We are seeking a support worker to join an existing care team to provide support and facilitate the independence of our client, a schoolgirl who lives with her parents near Swansea. She has cerebral palsy, resulting in physical and learning disabilities and requiring 24/7 1:1 care.

Her care needs are complex and she requires support in managing her day to day needs in the home; assistance in undertaking activities; supporting her to attend a special needs primary school and engaging in therapies.

Some of the moving and handling tasks may require you to bend, kneel, squat or lunge and work on mats on the floor on a regular basis.

The work is varied and involves assisting the client to access the local community and its amenities, along with accompanying her on family outings and holidays.

The role may include overnight shifts at the client’s home, making sure she is safe and attended to during the night.

Previous experience and full driving licence are essential. You will be required to drive a long wheelbase wheelchair accessible vehicle.

You must be registered with OR working towards registration with Social Care Wales.

You must hold a recognised Health and Social Care qualification (NVQ Level 2 or a Diploma) OR have completed the All Wales Induction Framework, or be willing to complete this within 6 months of starting if successful.

Full and part time hours considered

£13.50 per hour weekdays, £14.50 per hour weekends.
Waking nights: £14.50 per hour weekdays and £15.50 per hour weekends.

Team Leader and Support Workers

Required to work with a 22-year-old man with cerebral palsy and learning disabilities. He will leave college in July to start the next phase of his life. Based at the client’s home, the role will include personal care and community activities.
The client needs a team leader and support workers to help him find new and exciting activities to fill his week. He lives in the Woodford Valley near Salisbury and has an adapted property and vehicle. The support team have their own bedroom, kitchen and bathroom. Join me and help with my hobbies: PS4, swimming and social activities/going out.
Previous experience of caring for people with physical and learning disabilities is essential.
A full driving licence is essential as you will be required to drive an automatic wheelchair accessible vehicle.
An NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in care and competent IT skills are desirable.
Support is needed 24 hours per day with 12 hours shifts (8.00am to 8.00pm, 8.00pm to 8.00am with 8 hours at National Living Wage for sleeping shifts 10.00pm to 6.00am).
£13.00 per hour, £13.50 per hour at weekends.
Sleep shifts (8 hours) paid at National Living Wage/National Minimum Wage
The team leader will receive an enhancement of £2.00 per hour.
This position requires a fully enhanced disclosure request from the DBS. You will also be required to register with the DBS Update Service.
