An exciting opportunity has arisen for either an experienced support worker looking to further their career or a person with existing leadership experience.

Our client is a 26-year-old lady with complex physical and learning disabilities/cerebral palsy. She lives in her own adapted property and loves to live life to the max. Our client is very engaging and enjoys many activities and holidays throughout the year, with an established and committee team of support.

As Deputy team leader you will be required to assist the current team leader and case manager to mentor, co-ordinate, supervise and work as part of a team in the provision of 24/7 care for this client.

You must hold a recognised Health and Social Care qualification (NVQ Level 3 or above or a Diploma). An NVQ Level 4 (or equivalent) in management would be desirable.

Previous experience in a similar role is not essential, however being able to demonstrate key leadership credentials is paramount. We are looking for someone who has positive enthusiasm and energy!


Full driving license is required, our client has a lovely vehicle of her own.

36 hours per week (to include 5 hrs management time)

£12.50 per hour, equating to a salary of £24,000 p/a plus the additional benefit of a discretionary quarterly bonus scheme.

This position requires a fully enhanced disclosure request from the DBS.
You will also be required to register with the DBS Update Service.

SUPPORT WORKERS

We are looking for enthusiastic, kind, and caring support workers for a twelve-year-old boy with complex physical and cognitive needs living in the Skewen area of Neath Port Talbot.
Successful candidates will join a small team of experienced support workers working with the client in his private home environment. The role requires you to work with your colleague to support our client with all personal care needs, medication and assisted feeding, and domestic duties.

As part of a small team, you will need to be able to work collaboratively, have excellent observation and communication skills, enthusiasm for the role, and a willingness to learn from others is essential.

Our client enjoys opportunities to experience new and exciting social and sensory experiences. Your role as his support worker is fundamental to supporting him to access all that the community has to offer him. To facilitate this essential aspect of our client's care, you will have access to the client's wheelchair adapted vehicle that you may drive him to events. Therefore, a valid driving licence is essential.

In addition to your mandatory training requirements, you will receive specific training from the client's occupational therapist, physiotherapist and speech and language therapist to support you in providing our client with therapeutic care.

Care experience is desirable. However, Westcountry Case Management provide full training, and applicants with the desired personal qualities willing to work towards a recognised Health and Social Care qualification will be considered.

All applicants registered with OR working towards registration with Social Care Wales will be considered.

A recognised Health and Social Care qualification (NVQ Level 2 or a Diploma) is desirable. As is, the All Wales Induction Framework or the commitment to complete this requirement within six months of starting the position.

Support workers are required to work day, afternoon and night shifts, and you will join other staff working on a 7-day rotation basis. All shifts are 2:1 staff other than the night shift, 1 x staff with family support. Day shifts may be combined with an afternoon shift, of which you will receive a retaining payment for the hours not being worked between shifts.

School Term
Weekday Shifts: 07:30 to 10:30
Afternoon Shifts: 14:30 to 21:00
Night Shift: 21:00 to 07:30
Retainer paid at £6.24 per hour

School Holidays and Weekends
Day Shifts: 09:00 to 21:00
Night Shift: 21:00 to 09:00

Bank work is available on a zero-hours contract basis.

Successful applicants will receive permanent contracted hours, regular supervision and annual reviews, paid annual leave entitlement with enhanced annual leave entitlement for long-standing staff, a split-shift bonus, and enhanced Weekend and Bank Holiday working payments. Staff receive one team-building experience day per year, a Christmas bonus and a Christmas party for all staff to enjoy.

Monday to Friday - £12.48
Saturday - £13.02
Sunday - £14.05
